Skagit birds‏ Nancy Downing 10/18/13

Took a ride yesterday to Skagit Wildlife Refuge and saw loads of Yellowlegs and some Willets. Also saw a bunch of Yellow-rumped Warblers and a Merlin.Went to Semiahmoo today and saw large groups of Northern Pintails, a few loons and scoters and an eagle. I also saw some gulls on the shore that seemed smaller than our usual gulls, lots of brown on  the head, short yellow-green bills with a black mark. Could they have been mew gulls?
