Geese/swans‏ Jim Duemmel 11/2/13

This afternoon (Saturday): a good selection of geese at the SE corner of intersection of Slater and Ferndale Roads; 150 Canada Geese, 40 Cackling Geese, three White-fronted Geese. Nearby in flight a small flock of Snow Geese. The Snow Geese were not flying in their usual neat vee formation – perhaps buffeted by the winds. I was hoping for some swans, but none yet apparently.

My husband,Bob, and his brother saw about a dozen swans in the Sumas area off the Telegraph Rd. north of the North Pass Rd. and to the east. Last year we saw many swans in that area around Sumas.

I went out this afternoon (Sunday) and counted 34 swans on the west side of the Telegraph Rd. at the intersection with the North Pass Rd. At least 6 were juveniles.
