Edison/East 90 proposed wetland‏ Todd Entrikin 11/8/13

Just hearing about this

''EDISON — Skagit County is accepting public comment on the state Department of Fish and Wildlife’s proposal to convert the Welts property, a public access site at the mouth of the Samish River used for bird watching, hunting and fishing, into a wetland.''

Not really sure what they plan to change, but i haven't looked at all the info yet.

Hi, thanks for sharing. I just read the proposal, I think looks good but no timeline mentioned. They won't change the dike. They plan on de-leveling the area, installing multiple habitat logs, and getting rid of the blackberries. They will need to use heavy farm equipment to accomplish it. Also they plan on expanding the parking lot and put in a portable toilet. I just followed the link below. Public comment period closed on Nov. 6, but I left a comment for Loren (# within the official doc) re: timeline, stating please don't start in the winter when the raptors are hunting.
