We did a survey of bald eagles from the North Fork Nooksack hatchery to Highway 9 yesterday and counted 606 eagles. The hatchery and Mosquito Lake Road are prime viewing for our white headed visitors right now.
By comparison, the reach from Copper Creek (above Marblemount) to Rockport on the Skagit had under 100 eagles. The chum run on the Skagit is unexpectedly low this year.
